I am trying to view a movie trailor but a get a message saying "video data: fourcc code mp42". What does this mean and what media player do I need to view it? Any help is appreciated.

It means Microsoft - MPEG-4 Video Codec V2 or just MPEG 4 codec. You may have to install the codec, the error message should provide you with a link. The problem is usually solve by installing the latest version of divX codec
