I'd use the parallel loopback. CMOS wont work, because its contained in the EEPROM, so it's stuck there. the loopback is the best bet.

Yeah, that will be my first try. So, if the parallel works with the newer models, why have the USB crackers? Are they just for people who prefer the easy way out?

Hmmmmmm.... well I just found out that this model doesnt have a parallel port. So, on to the next option.

Well, I just happened to come across a brand new MB on ebay for 100 bucks. I couldnt pass that up so I went ahead and bought it. I've only replaced one laptop MB in my lifetime and the only problem that I encountered was a grounding issue. Is this common when replacing MB's? Anything I should keep in mind when I replace it?
