No PCI E= Me needing a new motherboard!

I bought my computer less than 3 months ago, but I am having a lot of problems with it and I want to eventually replace everything other than the optical drive, RAM, and Hard Drive. The first thing I want to do is to get a new motherboard and case. I want the best avialable, but they do have to fit these quidlines.
1. They have to fit togather.
2. They have to be extremely upgradable.
3. The motherboard has to work with my current processor (2.8 GHZ Celleron D) and also be able to take a much more powerful processor.
4. Has to be able to take my current RAM (184 Pin DIMM) unless that RAM is outdated...I only have 256 MB so it wouldn't be too bad to replace it.

I currently have integrated graphics, would my computer even be able to run if I didn't get a graphics card right away when I replaced my motherboard?

Since it is an eMachine, I'm betting that it is a microATX board and case.

Bad news... NewEgg does not have a single microATX socket 478 mobo that has a PCI-e graphics slot.

NewEgg only has a single ATX mobo with PCI-e. It also has AGP (why? I dunno), and its ratings ain't the best.

If you can live with an AGP card and are willing to buy an ATX case, you're in decent shape 'cause NewEgg has about 30 ATX socket 478 mobos.

I guess if I had to I could just buy a new processor when I bought the motherboard and case. What choices would I have if I did that?

If you are getting a new CPU when you get the case and mobo, then the whole field is open to you. Intel, AMD, 32-bit, 64-bit, single core, dual core, 478, 754, lga775, 939...

Personally, I'd look into the socket 939 CPUs for gaming, LGA775 if you are into video conversion.
