router/kazaa

since i installed a router my kazaa download speed dropped down ALOT..

can anyone help me configure my router/kazaa settings

look at your router manual. there should be some place where you can configure the router's firewall and port forwarding. you need to either turn off the firewall or forward the port used by kazaa.

i did forward the port used by kazaa, but it still goes slow...
...but when i disconnect my router, and when im using only my modem..my kazaa downloads are crazy fast (like 170kb/s )

What port did you forward for Kazaa?

i forwarded ports 3874 to 3879
and i got kazaa set tup to use
3876

i also set up my Default DMZ Server

Some routers will actually slow your connection speed down. Mine drops a little with my router but not enough to really bother me. I have a friend who's connection drops considerably when he has his router connected. So much so that when he is gaming he disconnects it to get a much faster ping time from the server.

yea but i got no problems playing online... the only thing that slowed down since i installed a router was kazaa... everything else is the same.......

please help
