The GT comes with GDDR3 whereas the 6800 has DDR. Thats the difference. Both are 256mb cards I believe.

sorry i was talking about the AGP version, they dont come in 256MB versions, and i believe you cant unlock the pipelines on pcie16 6800?

Yes i'm sad to say that i bought an x700 pro. I've seen many tests comparing the 6600GT and the x700 pro and they do not look pretty. The only game the x700 pro can keep up with the 6600 GT is in CS:S, although they're about the same, which is pretty sad. For MMORPG's, the 256mb will come in handy over the 6600GT's 128mb. All in all, i'd still take the 6600GT.

Just keep the x700 pro for a while, until it gets even more out of date. But if you're wanting a card now, i'd save up a little bit and get a 6800GT or a 7800GT or GTX. I dont think it's worth paying $150 just to get that 6600GT.

yeah i think your right.. I mean x700pro does everything i want it to now. With my setup it runs CS at 90-120 FPS and it runs World of Warcraft plenty fast. Ill just wait it out until it wont play anything, then ill upgrade to a 7800gt or something along those lines when there the cheap 150-200$ cards
