PC2100 vs PC2700

Guys, have we not established that it's all about me? (Now everyone's like... dude, where did THAT guy come from? Who is he anyway?)

some scenarios to think about

if not upgrading for a long time, then just get pc2100, it will be way cheaper
if you want to go in steps to upgrade totally to pc2700 1GB, then get the stick of pc2700 512MB,
if you are upgrading in the near future your mobo, then both pc2100/pc2700 would be a bottleneck in your system, as most new mobo's are pc3200, i'm quite sure that a stick of 512MB pc3200 will be able to be used in ur system but will downclock to the lowest speed of your other ram. problem is that with the new mobo, it will be hard to get a stick of pc3200 512MB to match the other to make your dual channel work. If it were me, i'd just put in the cheapest ram of pc2100, and then do major upgrade later on.
