Well besides the huge size of PATA cables SATA is better because it offers 150-300GB/s transfer rates. Also alot of SATA150/3G drives have NQC which speeds up the drive even more.
After "Mail-in-Rebate" that's an excellent price for a Ultra ATA 100 HDD.
$69.99... oh yeah... for a 250GIG Seagate.
The problem is waiting 12 freakin' weeks to get your $60.00 back.
Actually, if you bought that HDD and then bought a HDD external encloser... You could have yourself a 250GIG USB extermal HDD for $100.00... Not to bad... perfect for notebooks...
