can i go any higher?

hey ppl

i recently got a new comp and was
wondering how much i could overclock it.
my cpu is a AMD athlon XP 2500+
and my mobo is an
ASUS A7V8X-MX.
rite now itz @ 1.83 Ghz.
i also want to know if i have
to change my hsf if i was to o/c it.
currently it runs around 50 degrees.

i would recommend changing the HSF before o/c .. Provided u change the HSF .. n' the temps r good enough .. u should be able to clock it to 2100Mhz atleast ..

U have to mess with the frequency clock rate

the retail heatsink is good quality, stick with it. i have mine at 2.1Ghz easily running 50-55Celcius with retail heatsink.

go into CMOS and bump your CPU external frequency (CPU physical frequency) to 200 from 166. set CPU multiple (multiplier) down to 10.5 from 11.0.

to get to 2.2Ghz you may have to bumb your voltage up just a bit and set CPU external frequency to 200 and multiplier to 11.0
