dowloading stuff in firefox

Hello

Whenever i download stuff in firefox i have no control over which folder it is bing downloaded to

i just get the prompt that i am can save to disk, and when i go with that option it saves it/downloads it to the desktop,

is there any way i can control and get it to ask me where would i want to save to?

firefox>tools>options>downloads on the left side> ask me where to download saved folders click it > then click save all files to this folder< and then click other and choose the destination.

the action is valid for Microsoft word document, how do i make it valid for pdf, i mean how do i add pdf documents to the list
