CPU speed fallout

hi, first post here.. Ok so i turn on my computer today and with no changes im aware of my CUP speed is at 1/3 of its normal power..its a 2.2 AMD usualy runs at 1.8 now its like 733mhz, i have made no changes and ive checked my voltage and the settings in my BIOS and cannot find the solution. Any help would be great

I had this happen to me before. All i did was reset my bios to defaults and that worked. However this may not necessarily be your problem. But, It wouldn't hurt to try.

Any new installs ?

Do it a 166 more times, and youll be back at 1.8

Try to check your event viewer, assuming your using xp, also try to see if there is any updates for the firmware for: motherboard, proc, bois.

nothing new, turned off my computer last night it was fine, turn it on this morning and its at 733

What are your specs btw ?

no, no crashes...AMD Athlon 2.2 (or should be)256k cashe, 1.5gig RAM,radeon9800pro,Windows XP
