monitor problems

i dont know if this is the place to put this topic...

i have an emachines eview 17 monitor (flat screen, built in 2000)

it flickers on any resolution other than 1024*768 at 60HZ refresh rate

what could be the problem? used to work fine under my old 533MHz celeron which it came with brand new

i will be getting a new LCD in december, but any help is greatly appreciated!

up your refresh rate and see if that works.

i have tried every refresh rate, every resolution, and it still doesnt work

P.S. it also works fine in 640*480 in 256 colors (only that setting!)

So if you pu it on a lower resolution it doesn't work? It works fine only with the two that you mention?

im wondering if its windows xp, becuase my old windows 98 machine worked fine with the monitor, perhaps windows xp has too much color for the monitor?

Maybe I don't know whats causing that problem. IF it works fine with Win.98 how it can it give problems now.

it is made by emachines. they are known to make crappy things...the computers die in seconds!
