AVI file to DVD disc

I am looking for a process of taking oe or more avi video files and making them play on a dvd in any regular dvd player hooked up to a tv. Is there any way to do this? If not what would be the next best option? I know how to make a vcd, but dont know if this idea with a dvd is possible. Thanks for any help.

They ahve to be converted to DivX first.

I use Nero for that.

I would recommend windvd creator or cucusoft avi to dvd

I have nero suit. I'll try it with this first, how ever how compatable is this dvd from avi files? Will it play in most dvd players (not dvd drives) ?

it is very compatible, but nero doesn't have the best encoders. some people don't notice it though
