Odd soft boot problem

Computer wont soft boot.

Any method of soft booting shutsdown the computer, but all fans continue to run. It doesnt post, or anything, like it hangs , then the monitor goes to no signal while the pc is still running.

Im guessing its this motherboard, but everything else in the system runs fine, no other noticeable problems.

Anyone have other suggestions?

sorry i'm thinking its something i do know or should know but i'm too tired so humour me, what do you mean by soft-booting?

When the computer is "locked up," or "frozen," must be turned off and on again to clear the memory before it can be operated. A soft boot is restarting the computer without turning the power off. Eg Alt + Ctrl + Del

oh ok. . i do know what he means i just call that a warm boot. sounds like overheating.
