another question, why are AMD processors so fast but yet such a slow clock speed? Debating whether of not i should get a Athlon 64 of a p4.

Tell ya what. If I was building a computer right now, and now's the time, I would get a AMD 64 3_00. Whatever is in your price range. Don't wait, there will ALWAYS be a faster processor and video card and HD and motherboard and sound card RIGHT around the bend...
