help over clocking!!!

i have an intel petium (r) 933MHz, 384 SDRAM, geforce 4000 128mb, 40gb of harddrive. what exactly is overclocking and wat does it do and if it is usefull can u plz help me do this ? i have a basic idea which is tweaking pc performance but i would like a more detailed explanation

hey thanks but dont think that i'll do it after all. i live in trinidad in the caribbeanand my pc reaches temps of 40 and over i'm sure so dont think it'll b a good idea, just wanted to see wat more the pc can do, but it works great as it is , but thanx anyway!

good idea as long as your computer does eveything you want no reason to risk it for a little more speed.
