quick question about updating notebook mem.

i have 512mb in my notebook right now in 1 slot and theres 2 slots
but since i have shared video memory it takes 128 off the 512 and slows down the performance. i could reduce it to take of 16mb off the main memory but then quality would suck. so i was wondering if my computer could take this kind of memory

i was a cheap solution cause i dont really want to waste too much money on it but i want it to perform a bit better so which would be a wise choice. i dunno if ill be wasting my money on the more expensive one if its just as good as the cheaper one.

then it can only hold 512mb's.

no thats just saying what it has thats what is meant by capacity. they wouldnt put 2 slots and 1 512mb mem in there
