Windows xp pro cd wont start

Ok, i got my comp i just built up and running and i go to install windows xp pro wen it tells me to install bootable cd. But wen i put my xp pro cd in, it wont work. any ideas? i know that my cd drive is working.....pleeez help

First, the obvious: is CDROM set to first boot in BIOS?

ok, i switched the ide ribbons and it worked...stupid me...but thanx anyway
