Running Really slow

I have a Windows 2000 Machine that was running fine two days ago. I came in this morning and it took forever to boot and when it finally did, everything was running so slow. After running virus scanner (with no luck), adaware (no luck), I re-formatted the drive and reinstalled windows. After the initial Reboot it made it to the windows 2000 splash screen and then it started running really slow again. Any Ideas.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You probably have a peice of hardware going south, I had something like this happen to me, only it was an integrated network card, every time the device intializes it freaks out slows down everything. In my case it only started as soon as I connected, and kept up until power down.

let me guess its some system process eating the cpu in the task manager?
