Hi, I have a belkin wireless 54g network card in one of my computers that has stopped working after I re-installed windows.

THE CARD:
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Product_Id=179458

The mobo's NIC is working though. so I downloaded its latest driver:
http://web.belkin.com/support/download/downloaddetails.asp?download=1430&lang=1

when I launch the 'driver program', a dialog box comes up and says: "please insert wireless card then run setup again"

The card IS inserted. It was woking before I did a fresh install.

I don't know what else to do other than take the card out and smash it with a very large hammer. :p

info:
WinXPproSP1

right click on my computer, go to properties, go to hardware, then device manager.
under network adapters, right click on the wireless card, then click update driver
if you have the CD, you can keep it on "install the software automatically" and it will (or at least should) search the CD for the right drivers

if not, then click on Install from a specific location
then click on Don't search, I will choose the driver to install
then browse around the CD.
it should have a Drivers folder somewhere, and in that folder, different folders for different OS's. go to the folder for your OS and select the .inf file that is in that folder
