try user name:administrator
pass: 1st just press enter if that does not work try things like school name or something like that. dont spend too much time. Get your hands on a copy of win98 and install that if you cant get in. Nice to know the computer specs if you could get them. if it is a pII xp will have a tough time.

there is no place for Username. Just password.

Ill try finding win98 disk.

What does the password screen look like?

If there is no place for a username then someone placed a startup password in the bios. You'll have to reset the bios either by putting a jumper on the pins(which you don't know where they are because you have no manual, and probably no model number) or you can pull that little round battery out, usually located at the bottem right hand side of the motherboard, for about 15 seconds.

Delete Stored Passwords and Profiles:

Start / Shutdown / Restart the computer in MS-DOS mode.
Once at the prompt type cd\windows and press enter.
When at the C:\WINDOWS> directory type del *.pwl and press enter, and delete all files found. The pwl files are the actual encrypted password files windows stores.
Once each of these files have been deleted, type deltree profiles and press enter. Once this has been completed, press CTRL + ALT + DEL to restart the computer.
After the computer boots up and no password was entered, reboot again to see if the changes fixed the computer. If issue persists continue troubleshooting by following the next step.

hope this does it.

yes if it is a bios pass this will work. Did not think of it being bios. nice work Sui.

basically its all black.

and says: insert CURRENT password.

tried the stuff, cant seem to make it work.,

when it turns on t ays Vectra.. not sure what that means.

Wait I forgot to mention you have to unplug it too.

Just making sure is say Vectra, and then immediately askes for that password right? Try tapping the del key when the computer turns on, they'll probably have a password lock on the bios too.
