When I start the computer the entry screen shows my memory at 166 when it should be 200. I have the bios set to auto should I manually set it to 200?

Yeah, seems weird that it'd just go to 166, but if you've got 2gb which is 4x512mb modules and you've got all your slots filled up that could be why...I thought that was supposed to no longer be a problem with the memory controllers on these newer chips, but that's about all I can think of right now.

i noticed in my dell bios that the memory is set to 333mhz...why would that be?

Cuz its a Dell.... need we say more? It probably only has crappy PC2700 memory anyway so it runs at 333mhz. Or all 4 RAM slots are full.

But I agree with Nubius, its prolly because all 4 ram slots are full, and you could just manualy set it at 200
