i was wondering if there is a way to clear the list of notifications in the hide inactive icons thing in the system tray? i have alot of icons in there that i dont even have the program installed anymore and i just wanna be able to clear it:p

well, most of them are appliets that run from the run key in the registry.
Look here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Runonce

Look through those items and see what you find. anything you don't feel like using, just delete the key. But remember, always make a save first,ie, export the key your going to work in and save it somewhere incase you made a mistake.

Also, look in your startup folders.

MSCONFIG will get you to them, but doens't remove them. This way you can remove them.

Good luck.

i dont want to keep them from running. in the shot i posted there is a list. i just want to empty that list.
