Well I am a college student and we have that MSDN alliance to download software for free because of taking CS classes. I downloaded Windows XP Pro as an ISO file. I have tried installing it from that ISO file and it just will not work. As I set my primary boot drive to the CD drive, the CD drive will spin up like it is reading the CD but then the CD is skipped over and the boot goes on to the next device. I was wondering if anyone has ever attempted anything like this or knows how to make an ISO file bootable. Thanks in advance for any help

Yae you can't just burn the file, you need software that can burn an ISO image.

I recently started burning a lot of ISO's myself and use THIS software, it's small, works every time, and works off the built in capabilities of windows.

Note: That software is for XP, and it looks like you don't have XP, yet.

I also use deepburner free edition, works well, you can get it HERE
