PCI EXPRESS X1 SLOTS. WTF are they used for?

man I have. This is a somewhat last resort.
Don't get me wrong. It's just that I haven't solid facts on the actual usage of the slot. Plenty of info on bandwith and bus speed and improvements over the basic PCI, but nothing on anything that uses it currently.
It's also strange that they have them on the majority of new boards yet I can't find anything to put in em.
So please, if you've been successful in googling some info, gimme a link.

The slots are not used yet, the reason there included is incase companys start issuing more soundcards/modems to fit that and people still use that same motherboard in 5 years and can no longer buy PCI cards.... But im sure if you type in PCIe cards or something on a google search you can find prototypes of sound cards in that format.....
