Well look at it this way, Even if i turn all my fans on low I still can't hear my 6800gt during BF2. And it's overclocked too, so I don't think either of them will give you a noise problem, but i can gaurentee the 6600gt won't (having not liked touching ATI's with 10 foot poles).

how about a 6800 plain?
they're not much more than the 6600's, but have more pipes, and you can unlock 4 more

i though you cant unlock the pipelines on the pcie version. only on the agp version
