I was wondering how I would go about sectioning off portions of my hard drive to make managing my files a bit simpler. Like if I could make new e: f: etc. like one section for my programs and OS and another for Downloads but still have it all be on the same hard drive (basically like the XBox hard drive is). If this is possible and someone could maybe post a short how to type thing for me that would be great or jus tell me a website to visit.

thanks in advance.

you mean partitioning your hard drive? You can either do it using FDISK or if you have already installed an OS, then you need to use Partition Magic software.

Do you have your data on your hard drive?? If so, you need Partition Magic. Or some place to put your data while you fdisk the drive.

What operating system are you using. In my experence, you will want to have the following drive space for the following OS.

Win 95 :- 1 Gb
Win 98/Me :- 2 Gb
Win 2k :- 4 Gb
Win Xp :- 6 Gb

These size are enough for the OS and office and with some room to move.

I am using Windows XP and yes I do already have data on my comp so I guess this Partitioning Magic is what I should use.

Thanks guys :)
