Guys,My boys in the room have just basically made their computer inop. When it gets switched on it comes up with an error message NTLDR is missing, press ctl alt del to restart.
I have tried to do a repair using the xp disk,(which boots up ok)
but it either keeps rebooting or hangs at a certain bit saying that this certain file cannot be found.
My next step was to reinstall windows xp,but when I try this,it tells me that drive c is corrupted and cannot be repaired.
Think I need to start from scratch and format the hard file.
I have all the main documents that I need on my laptop which I am working from and don't need any saved data from the hard file.
Hard file is divided into 3 partitions c,e,f(i think)which a friend done.
My pc details are as follows
Dell dimension 4400
windows xp
20gb h/file
256mb mem
All help appreciated.
Remember I am know pc expert and I only know the very basics....thanks.
