I get the message "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to avoid damage to computer." Even after I restore the computer, formatted and re-install new copy of Windows XP I still get this error message. I get stuck while installing Windows when it says 39 minutes left. The computer restarts and same error message comes up. Please help. What usually cause this? Bad hard drive ??? Please help

Me and a friend had that same problem when I helped him build his computer. We finally discovered that there was a 4-pin molex power connector on his motherboard (DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D) that needed to have something plugged into it. After we connected the power cable, Windows installed just fine. I would suggest making sure all of your cables are plugged in securely before you buy yourself a new hard drive.
