scratches on my monitor

i have a viewsonic g71f+ and i just recently noticed that i have scratches on my monitor. I was wondering if it is the antil glare coating coming off. I use sams club lens clothes to clean my monitor, it says its safe for computer screen cleaning. Can someone tell me what is wrong with my monitor?

is it LCD or CRT?

LCD's are really easy to scratch, and CRT's are nearly impossible.

CRT's are very inexpensive. If yours is scratched then it might be time to get a new one.

ive had my monitor for about 2-3 years. is that about when they could be having problems?

No, I don't think that scratches are the CRT's problem.
