How to hind some icons on start up?

right click your desktop, go to properties, then select apprearance. Click the advanced button, then select Icon from the drop down. Change the 32 to another value lower. I believe that is pixels, but not sure. That will make them smaller. Then you can change the font size assocated to that as well.
In the drop down, there is also the vertical and horizontal spacing, which you can change to make them closer as well.

ok i made it to the advanced area but i still don't see where the "icon" thing is as you descriped

you see desktop in the drop down box ?
Change that to Icon...
That will do it for you.

i don't have that i'm looking and don't see it

i have windows XP

and have window blinds installed if that did anything

put i saw a check for make icons bigger and i tryed that... i like that better then the small ones lol

so its all good

It could very will be the windows blinds...
There was a post about "windows blinds" like last week...
Advice: Never uninstall that thing - It took a while for us to figure out that "Windows Blinds" was the problem.
