Hi
Greetings all,
I have a co-worker who is pulling various amounts of hair out of her head over this problem:
In Excel, when she has a certain workbook(s) open, she cannot open any other workbooks.
This problem happens once in awhile, but is quite a pain in her heiny.
I have an idea what the prob is, but wanted help from the pros in this forum.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Love,
Thee:beard:

How was this book accessed ?
Is it shared ?
Is it using Macros ?
Can you start another excel.exe via runline ?

Hi - Thanks for the reply:
1. Book is accessed by clicking on an icon or opening it from a saved area, or from the Excel program.

2. Book is not shared.

3. She uses a macro on it at times; however she said that the problem was happening long before she created the macro.

4. I dunno.

What cha think?

Thanks,
Thee:confused:

Have you tried running the detect and repair ?
Have you tried opening these "books" on another machine ?
Is it affected the same way on all machines ?
Have you re-installed it ?

No, I havent.
I shall inform my friend to try this.

Thanks to all...
Have a great weekend!!:amazed:

Moved to Windows OS & Software forum. Just note where you're posting threads next time; no harm done :).

I would resave the workbook with a new file name. then open excel and open the newly name workbook through the file, open menu, and browse to the new workbook...

That way it should be ok,,, sounds like a VBA macro protection schema that is corrupt in the workbook.
