bios password

hi, yesterday my laptop was working fine, it crashed so i rebooted it and upon reboot it suddenly has a bios boot password... i never put it there and have no idea what it is. I really really need the information on the hard drive. any suggestions on how i can bypass it or get to the data?

Remove the hard drive from the laptop and buy a converter to install it in a PC. Once installed, copy your data over to the PC. You can try to open the laptop and find the battery and remove it to see if it will reset the bios. Is this laptop under warranty? If so I would call tech support and find out whats up.

sometimes, there is a jumper in your computer, that you can take out and put on right place, and you can change the password.

could you provide the model/manufacturer and if possible bios manufacturer, there are some master codes that can work but most of the time don't but still its worth a try
