Argh!

Disappearing abroad for six weeks from tomorrow, midnight, and after loading up our laptop with things to keep us entertained, I managed to effectively kill Win '95 last night. All we have is a copy of Win '98, which would mean that in order to install it, Win '95 would have to be completely removed; otherwise, the install program would pick up on it and say, "Ah-ha! What *you* need is an upgrade edition!"... Or at least that's what happened with this computer when deleting the old copy of Win '98.

So... does anyone know how to completely eradicate the evil OS, or even a place where Win '98 upgrade can be downloaded, as I have the licence code...?

Help?

Well If you have a win 98 setup disk with you - just create a bootdisk from win95. Boot the system from the bootdisk and format the c drive (If you have important files - then simply delete the c:\windows folder). Put in the win 98 setup cd and run the setup.

if you do not have a win98 startup diskette you can create one without having win98 installed. put win98 CD into cd-rom/ dvd-rom drive.

through your windows run box or command prompt start button> all programs> accessories> command prompt change directory and execute the program of F:\tools\mtsutil\fat32ebd\fat32ebd.exe where F: is your CD-rom drive letter.
