Well this is what the tech person sent me from Creative.
You may like to configure the settings as follows:
- Launch Creative Speaker Settings
- Check the ?Synchronize with Control Panel?
- Click on the OK button
- Launch the Surround Mixer
- Set the Mic In to mute
- Close the Surround Mixer
Can you check if there is any audio application or any recording
application running as the taskbar that might overwrite the settings?

It worked for me, finaly i have no fear of going deaf when i use my microphone
..hope it helps ya out too.
