Outlook Express Problem

When I try to launch my Outlook Express email program I get an error message that says "Outlook Express can not open because msoe.dll failed to load". I have tried replacing this file with one copied from another computer, but I still get the same error message. Does anybody know if there's some way of reinstalling Outlook Express without having to download and reinstall Internet Explorer? Has anybody else ever experienced this problem, and if so, what did you do to correct it? I'm using Windows 98SE operating system. Thanks. Jim

I agree I have used the method used in the above article and it worked for me. It also works for reinstalling internet explorer too.

The way to reinstall outlook express

NOTE: You must be logged on as Administrator or as a member of the Administrators group in order to perform this procedure.

Click Start , click Run , and then type the following command:

%systemroot%\inf

NOTE : There are no spaces at all in the preceding command line.

Click OK to open the INF folder.

Locate the file MSOE50.inf .

Right-click the file, and then click Install . This will reinstall the files that Outlook Express needs to proceed norma

When I had that problem I had to Re-Install OE, But it did clear the Problem!
