an edit delay

I was thinking the site has had problems with people editing info out of thier topics that we offensive.

so I was thinking could there be a 5-10 minute delay before a person could edit something.-dont think u will like

or the person can edit it whenever but there is like a original copy for the mods to see.and the copy wont have to take up space after like a day it would be deleted.-u may like but a space problem

is any one of these possible?

A site I post on has just the opposite... You can only edit within a few minutes of posting, then you can't edit it.

Why is this a problem man. As long as the offensive content gets editted out, who cares. All of us are members who are simply exchanging info here. Not little kids that need to be monitored like in kindergarten.

People have different levels when it comes to "offensiveness".. If someone posts something, and a few people find it offensive, why shouldn't he be able to edit it out?
