I toasted my old Mobo to a point where it would not boot. I installed a new one but it just restarts when it should be loading into windows. I have tried booting in safe mode and still unable to get into windows. I assume this is because of the old Mobo drivers left on the harddisk.

Is there any way to remove the drivers with out having to reformat. I was thinking possibly using a linux boot disk and removing the C:\Windows\System folder and then doing a windows repair on the partition.

Thanks in advance.

Ya I got pleanty of HDDs, removing the system folder is not my problem though. Im just wondering if:

1.) Removing the system folder will get rid of my current drivers?

2.) If my current applications will be intact after a system repair to replace teh system folder.

Basicly... I need to remove the old MOBO drivers, and since I can not boot into Windows, how would I go about doing that?

Nope you have to reformat the hard drive :/

However you can use a bootable operating system (Knoppix Linux) that fits on a CD, to backup all your files to another hard drive if you want.
