Which card is better performance wise? Radeon 9600 (SE, Pro, & XT) or GeForce 6200?

do yourself a favour and get a 6600 GT.... if you buy a 6200 your only gonna have to upgrade again very soon (thats if you intend to game with it)

It's not a gaming rig at all, I just don't want to have to get onboard, and I want it to last fairly long.

so why are you asking which one is better? if is not gaming it shouldnt matter. Are you askign which will last longer no one can tell, buy 1. The only reason to not have onboard, if you not gamign, is beacuase you need all the cpu can offer, so it wont matter just dotn get a PCI card( i dindt say PCI-E)

The 6200 will do you more than fine. just make sure you don't buy the 6200 TC (Turbo Cache) it uses up system RAM for the VRAM. but the 6200 will be great for your needs!
