ill try it, by the way you know a reliable place to get a 98 boot disk, i cant seem to find it on major geeks anymore

it didnt have a utility to create a partition either and i cant access it with my boot cd utility.

i dont think it supports sata. and i dont think it comes partitioned from the WD either. but the Xp setup is suppose to when it does its ntfs or fat format.

disable virus boot protector in your bios

or use powermax in my signature to delete your hard drive if your bios isn't blocking it

i,m sorry, i was in a hurry. i meant to say try that with your ide

well i found something that looks really good its called acronis all

-in-one bootable, as soon as i get it downloaded im gonna try it

and see if i can partition the drive and see whatever else its got

on there that might help. i've messed around with the bios all i

could, turing the virus boot sector off, switching sata drivers,

screwing with it till it till i had to load defaults so unless i need to

update drivers (no one i know has a floppy drive, isnt that just

sad) so i think partitioning the drive before it goes into windows

setup is the second to last thing i can try.

use powermax to wipe it. it will take the bootsector completely out and then the windows cd will make a new one.

there a floppy and cd .iso file version for you to use
