Hey folks, just wondering what you people can tell me about USB vs. Ethernet. Which is better for connecting to the int3r-web (oh yes, thats right)? Why? Eh? etc.

Any help ya can give would be great. Cheers :D

Ethernet probably, since it was designed to be used for networks, which is what the Internet is.

To be honest there isn't much difference. They will both be the same speed. Only if you use USB you'll have other drivers and stuff loaded that don't need to be.

So either. You woudn't notice a difference.

if you have the choice to use either, then just use the ethernet. I think USB max is like 400mb/s, but you can never get that much over the internet so it dosnt matter.

Ok, cheers, another question if you will.

What exactly is an 'offload checksum', and what is the effect of disabling it?

i used to get only 500kb download when i used USB, but i switched over to ethernet and now i get 2MB. but them it just goes down and down and down and stays around 700kb

ethernet is faster for cable internet. i used USB did a speed check , then ethernet , and it was much faster theoreticly. however i never reach those speeds anyway cuase i live in australia and all international links are slow anyway
