Thanx everyone, my problem is solved...,

but I was never able to gain access to my folder, I went into the security in normal and safe mode and gave all users (All of them) full access.., still no luck:confused:

so... I looked into my resources, and realised that I had 200 or so Mb of music backed up on a computer I had a few blockes from my house, and another 400 on my brothers computer, and all my other mp3's were backed up on a dvdr... I was able to get back all of my pictures because I also had a dvd full of them as well, and all those signature designs are on the internet..., all that I lost were a couple of songs, latest verson of firefox, and a few other new drivers... which, for the most part, I can redownload...;)

I appreciate all the help I recieved, and I am sure that under different circumstances I would have regained access...

Thanx people!:D

all is not lost. you can still access those files inside those locked folder, while you are in safe mode as administrater. Copy (or cut) and paste those files to another folder that isn't locked.

that is what I used to do before I figured out how to take ownership.

tried that..
I couldn't, I spent most of yesterday trying suggestions, but still no luck... while i was working on it, I did make some progress, after giveing everyone full access, I could get into my folder, but I couldn't open or change the properties of any of the files or subfolders...

I now have almost all of my files back anyway, du to haveing them backed up elswere...

On the folder permissions do you remember checking the "Inherit permissions from parent " ? If you did not do this the folder will take the permissions but the files and sub folders will not inherit these permissions.

never saw anything about inherit permissions?

If it ever happens again, at least then I would have a clue as to where to start...
