Resolution Adjustment

Hi,

I just brought Dell Inspiron 6000, and it is working very well, but I have a main problem and hope someone can help me in it.

The problem I am facing is in the resolution of the screen. The screen is 15.4 inch WSXGA+. Resolutions larger than 600 x 800 makes the proportions of the screen not adjusted. I mean the screen appears to be a little bit stretched. Can anyone help me please to adjust that problem?
