What is the difference between the Retail and OEM versions? I am building a new computer on a pretty tight budget ($800) and Id rather save the $15 to put on something else if they are the same.

HS and FAN. You only get the processor if its OEM.

I go with retail on the processor, but OEM on most everything else... Gotta have a heatsink and fan to make it work, and why not bundle 'em, eh?

yeah go OEM on harddrives as well, even though they do not come with cables your motherboard probably will.

Keep in mind retail stuff has a longer warranty.

Glad Sevoma pointed that out, was about to say the same thing since no one else had mentioned it, but with Retail you get generally a 3 year manufacturers warrenty, with OEM your assed out
