Hi i was thinking of upgrading my HDD to one faster and was considering RAID 0 to just have it as one HDD not being familiar with this (raid) was wondering whether i will see any better performance in games or even responsiveness in windows since files are being read from both HD's rather than one or even if i get one Barracuda will it be noticably faster than my Samsung drive as the Barracude im looking at is SATA 7200.7

Thanks for any replies

P.S. My Current Samsung HDD Model can be seen in sig

You wont notice much of a gaming performance difference if you setup a RAID-0 array. WHat you will notice, is that games load a lot faster. Also, keep in mind that you have to have 2 identical drives for a RAID-0 array.

As for your SATA vs IDE question: You will not notice a performance difference. Even benchmark differences are minimal, let alone what you can actually notice.

Thanks for the reply

So is it worth an upgrading from my Samsung IDE to a Seagate Barracuda Then ?

I would say no. If you want a 2nd hard drive, then go ahead and get the Seagate, but if you want to replace it, dont bother.
