Want a new computer: MicroATX

Hey all, It's time for me to build a new desktop computer. My other died over winter break, and just have been using my laptop ever since for everything.

I want something fast, but nothing top of the line, like a 400 dollar video card parts.

Anything wrong with going microATX? I like the smallness of it.

I'm thinking 3500+ min AMD processor, maybe 64bit. atleast 2gb ram, 120gb hd, 128mb video card. and i dont know anything else i need help picking. Everything else i think is basic and doesn't matter much chich. Oh...and a good motherboard. I want the video card to be pci express.

I was planning on building this myself. Most likely parts from newegg or from other online parts stores. Looking to spend 650 ish on this. So those specs above seem to be a too much then.

Yea, i'm sorry about that. I just dropped 3k in new parts for my car so the computer is getting shorted. What can 650 get me?

PS. I think i will start with 1gb for sure to start off with. As long as the mobo can support up to 2gb. Thanks.

650 can get you something half decent, what are you going to be using the computer for?

A little bit of everything. Games( HL2 and similar) sometimes. Programming( CS Major ), music and videos( a lot of photoshop, and all of Abobe CS software). It gets used for a little bit of everything.

Will pick some cd-r/dvd combo drive , generic floppy, and will pick out a HD later. Keyboard/mouse/Speakers are also later things to consider.
