After formatting and reinstalling Win 98 on a HP Pavilion 4440 using Win98SE(not the original install disk), I was able to locate all the drivers necessary to get this machine up and running .My problem is that during the install process of the driver I have for the monitor (which is a M50) it asks for the original Hp Install disk which I no longer have..It Is there a way around this or a different driver I might try?? ..The generic driver that comes with Win 98SE just doesn't give you any sort of a good screen. The driver Iam using came from Driverguide .Thanks in advance

go to the HP site or even google for the M50 driver. Once you find the driver you can either do it by device manager or through the advanced properties of your display options.

I have the correct driver for the M 50 montior but it won't install properly without the orignal HP install disk .It asks for the disk to finish the install of the drivers.
