When I double click any drive (C:/ to I:/) it opens in a seperate window with a search companion trying to search in the selected drive.

Running Windows XP Home, Service Pack 2

I've already looked at similar problems on this website and others but nothing seems to solve this issue. Most people seem to have the issue with folders rather than drives. I've added a registry file, upgraded to service pack 2. Run norton, ad-aware and spybot but my system's clean.

Please Help Me.

I would suspect that the default was changed from open to search in the disk controls. Right click on a disk and see what is in bold.
post that.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell

Chagne the default value on this key to none.

Should do it for you.

Thanks for your help, I'd tried that before, but I decided to delete a folder in that directory called find, this time, and it worked.
