Cmail server

hi, im using cmail server on my LAN. Ive installed the program and have 3 users. From the administration window i can send an e-mail to all of the users and have seen it come up in mozilla thunderbird on user pc's. What i cant do is send an e-mail from one user to another, i get an error saying failed to connect to the smtp server. any ideas?

Are you setup on an Windows server ?
Do you run Advanced Server ?

Where ever you have your users bundled check the properties for that user in the email general tab, make sure their simple transfer is setup properly. Check for typo's.

Assign a fixed IP to the server en use that IP in the SMTP settings for each users mail client.

if you still get the error after doing this, try pinging the server ip from the client pc. If it fails, troubleshoot the network. if it passes, check firewalls.

Also maybe you have to use MX records but I don't know if this applies to LAN as well.
