Is the blaster worm patch included in the monthly cumulative patchs or do you have to download and install it separately?

Yes, for Windows 2000, XP and 2003 the blaster worm fix has been included in a security update. You will have to download the update from Microsoft's Update page if you should perform a fresh install of one of these OS types.

One thing to note,, if you have the blaster worm on your system,, Microsoft Update site may not be available to you,,,

In this instance ,, you have to search the Net for a sight that has the blaster fix downloadable from them,,

i never had the blaster virus while it was out, ive been using windows 2k for 2 years now ( even though the blaster virus just came out last year ) , haha thats what i get for not updating!!

First, go to this site (XP update) - Aug 14th, 2003 updates

then download fixblaster from Symantec

XP is very vulnerable to this, download ASAP or save them on the disc, I ran across this when I installed my XP, and was lucky and quick enough to download those files to remedy the constant/ automatic shutdown.

I remember working on a friend of mine's pc with blaster. A right turn in the services panel,( Before the patch came out), and it finally stopped. Why its turned on to default autorestart after a RPC crash is beyond me.
