I am running a Pentium 3 "Coppermine" processor, clocked at 866 mhz. It is on an ASUS motherboard; unfortunately, I don't know what model number or anything else about the motherboard.

I was wondering, how fast do you think I could safely overclock it, and what would be the safest way to do so?

aftermarket cooling, intel is generally known for overclocking to very high speeds, not surre about the p3 however... i would try 100 mhz first and go from there.

i have a 800mhz p-3 cpu on an asus mobo

it is the chip style and not the big slot style

i have it running at 936mhz with a stock cooler
so i would believe you should be able to safely hit 1ghz

just simply raise the fsb. get speedfan or mobo monitor 5 and make sure ur temps are too bad.
